For centuries we have been intrigued by the mystical art of fortune-telling. From crystal balls to speaking parrots and from palmistry to astrology, we haven’t shied away from indulging in every possible technique to ensure our bright future. Generally, Tarots have been associated with the occult and fortune-telling.
Tarot is yet another fascinating and enticing way of predicting our past, present and future. It is the most famous belonging to the family of Cartomancy, which is reading fortune with a deck of cards, followed by oracle cards.
The history of tarot cards is enshrouded by mystery. There have been some silly and some hotly contested ideas about the same. Egyptian or Italian? Hebrew or Latin? Well, we won’t delve into the already controversial debate. But it seems ironic how the origin of the very cards that hold the power to psychic envisions and conjectures has been so ambiguous.
There are different kinds of tarot decks. Some folks closely follow the traditional one, whereas others have either changed it or at least elaborated them to their liking.
Traditionally, a tarot deck is a deck of 78 cards with 22 cards in the Major Arcana and the remaining 56 in the Minor Arcana. Unlike an ordinary pack of cards, the Minor Arcana of the Tarot suit comprises of Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles instead of the usual Clubs, Hearts, Spades and Diamonds. Apart from these, there are 22 cards in the Major Arcana that do not belong to any suit.
While doing a Tarot card reading, if there is more number of Minor cards than the Major ones, it implies that your future, mostly, lies in your own hands. What you make of it is for you to decide. But if it turns out to be the other way around, then dear friends, your destiny will be governed by your fate. There wouldn’t be much within your control.
This practice requires the presence of a seeker, who wants to know his/her destiny and a tarot reader in Delhi, who will carry out the reading and interpret the meanings of the cards. Initially, the cards will be shuffled and the seeker would be asked to choose a certain number of cards from the spread. Each card has an upright and reversed meaning showing the positive and negative impact of the card on the life of the seeker.
